Stainless-steel dirty-water drainage

Illustrative outdoor drainage basin showing the complete FSP1100DWB stainless-steel pump and submerged bottom intake, freely floating blue tethered float, independent continuous float and power cords, original black side-outlet elbow, separate compatible 1-1/2 inch lay-flat hose adapter, blue discharge hose and a hose clamp. The water-filled hose has a rounded cross-section with a continuous uniform vertical run, bends over the supported rim and rests on the exterior gravel bank. This is a designed commercial illustration, not a field photograph or measured maximum-flow test.

Stainless-steel construction and operating limits

Complete original FSP1100DWB product and bottom-intake close-up: 1 HP stainless-steel pump; maximum solids 35 mm, minimum pit footprint 16 by 16 inches, maximum water temperature 95 degrees Fahrenheit and maximum submersion 23 feet. Keep the complete float travel path clear.

Water rises. The float responds.

Automatic water-level switching

Official tethered-float illustration: water raises the free float to turn the pump on above approximately 20 inches; the pump switches off below approximately 6 inches in the illustrated setup. Levels vary with float adjustment.

Supervised manual drainage

Official manual-operation diagram: put the float in the side slot to hold the pump on and lower water to approximately 2 inches. No automatic stop; disconnect before dry running.

Manual mode does not stop automatically. Stay with the pump and disconnect power before it runs dry.

Match the hose. Protect the flow.

FSP1100DWB five alternative connections, with original model-specific fitting pixels and representative straight threaded-hose illustrations: 01, 3/4 inch GHT garden hose with the small reducer, no cutting; 02, 1 inch inner-diameter hose with a clamp, no cutting; 03, compatible G1 female-threaded hose after trimming the adapter at the marked line; 04, 1-1/4 inch inner-diameter hose with a clamp after the marked trim; 05, compatible G1.5 female-threaded 1-1/2 inch hose using the original elbow, no cutting. Hose collar sizes are illustrative, not measured thread geometry; match the exact female thread to the outlet. This is an exploded instructional composite, not an installed photograph. Hoses and clamps are not included.

Hose diameter affects flow. Smaller hoses, including standard garden hoses, restrict output. A larger-diameter line allows more flow under the same conditions. The listed 4,000 GPH maximum uses a 1-1/2 in discharge hose in a horizontal setup; lift, hose length and fittings also reduce actual flow.

FSP1100DWB questions, answered.

Is this a low-water automatic utility pump?

No. The current listing shows automatic start above approximately 20 in and automatic stop below approximately 6 in in the illustrated float setup. Actual switching levels depend on the tether length and installation. Use a basin that gives the tethered float room to move. For lower water, supervised manual operation can drain to approximately 2 in; it does not stop automatically.

How do I switch to manual operation?

Secure the blue float in the side slot shown in the operation diagram. The pump then continues running while powered, even as the water level falls. Stay with the pump and disconnect power before it runs dry. Never leave manual operation unattended.

Why is my flow lower than 4,000 GPH?

Check discharge-hose diameter, hose length, vertical lift, bends and fittings. The listed maximum flow uses a 1-1/2 in hose in a horizontal setup. Smaller hoses, including garden hoses, restrict flow. Remove kinks and obstructions and keep the inlet clear. Maximum flow and maximum head are separate limits, not simultaneous output.

What basin size and water conditions does it need?

The current listing shows a minimum 16 × 16 in pit footprint, but the entire float travel path must also remain clear of walls, hoses and debris. It handles clean and dirty water with solids up to the manual-listed 35 mm. Water must stay at or below 95°F / 35°C. It is not for sewage, corrosive or flammable liquids, or continuous pond circulation.

Can I use a threaded garden hose?

Yes, the current listing includes a 3/4 in GHT garden-hose route and a stepped multi-hose adapter. Garden hoses restrict output compared with a wider discharge hose. Match the exact thread or hose inner diameter, and follow only the cut marks shown for the selected connection. G and NPT threads are not interchangeable. Hose and clamps are not included.

Safe use & operating limits

Use a properly grounded GFCI outlet. Keep power connections dry and lift the pump by its handle or supplied rope, never the power cable. Keep the float clear and the discharge hose free of kinks.

Never operate with people in the water. Not for flammable, corrosive or heated liquids; water must not exceed 95°F / 35°C. Do not use for continuous pond circulation. Manual hold-on does not stop automatically; disconnect power before dry running.
